What is Pilates?

Created by Joseph Pilates, Pilates is a method of exercise that focuses on balancing out our bodies muscular structure. Strengthening weak muscles (our core!), stretching tight area’s, correcting poor alignment habits.

Equipment-based Pilates involves the use of specialized apparatus such as the reformer, Cadillac, and chair, enhancing the traditional mat exercises with resistance and assistance. The benefits of equipment-based Pilates include increased resistance for muscle strengthening, improved flexibility, and heightened body awareness. The apparatus provides support for individuals with varying fitness levels and allows for precise targeting of specific muscle groups. Additionally, equipment-based Pilates offers a wide range of exercises that can be customized to meet individual needs, making it an effective and versatile form of exercise for overall fitness and rehabilitation.
